Earlier today, it was noticed that Google was showing an increasing number of its users a new search results page with more whitespace and without...
Google launched an updated version of Google Translate recently. The updated version is better than previous versions with smarter rankings, reverse translations and grouped synonyms.
This tool will enable to find exact translation of a given word. With the updated features, Google Translate will now rank possible translations by frequency. Every possible translation will now be marked as common, uncommon or rare and this ranking will be based on the vast number of translations trained to the system. The rare translations will actually be hidden by default but the user can bring them back with a single click.
Google Translate is a tool which helps the reader to understand the general content of a foreign language text. The limitation with the previous versions was that it did not always deliver accurate translations. Some languages produce better results than others. Google Translate performs well especially when English is the target language and the source language is one of the languages of the European Union. According to the analysis reports in 2010, French to English translation was accurate. The analysis report of the year 2011 shows Italian to English translation was relatively accurate as well.
The updated version of Google Translate will also group synonymous translations together when their meaning is closely related. This feature is only available in English for the time being. Another feature is reverse translation. Google Translate users quite often check the tool’s translations by using reverse translations. The updated version of tool helps distinguish translations of different meanings and reveal minute differences among similar words.
